Here are the drug patents we want Pfizer to put in the pool and why patients need them
Maraviroc (MVC)
Brand name: Selzentry
Maraviroc is one of a very new class of antiretrovirals that works in a totally new way to fight the HIV virus. This drug is used in the US and Europe by patients who have hit the end of the road with other available treatments. It could transform the prospects of some patients in developing countries who have also run out of treatment options. But Pfizer has indicated it won’t offer reduced prices for patients in developing countries. That’s why it’s very important to get the patents of this drug in the pool.
