It is estimated that up to 100,000 people die every year from snakebites but the most effective anti-venom used in Africa to prevent these deaths, FAV-Afrique, is set to run out years before the next batch will be available. Sanofi, the manufacturer of the drug, has a responsibility to provide a temporary solution.
